Hugging the north-west shores of the lake, Limone is a beautiful resort that provides a riot of colour and beauty every summer with its gorgeous mediterranean foliage and idyllic situation on the lake.
Traditionally a small fishing village, it is now a busy town with a spectacular waterfront and picturesque harbour, the Porto Vecchio ('Old Port'). You can stroll through its cobbled streets lined with shops selling shoes, leather goods and souvenirs, stopping off for a cappuccino at a pavement cafe in an old piazza or a picturesque waterfront terrace.
The old lemon grove, Limonaia del Castél provides an interesting glimpse into the heritage of the village. It is open every day in the summer and illustrates how the region of Limone acquired its name. Old lemon gardens, terraces with stone columns and walls are a feature of the lake's former citrus-growing areas, and are very striking especially when viewed from passing boats.
Leisure options in Limone include relaxing boat trips to nearby Malcesine, or you can enjoy the many water sports facilities that are on offer. Alternatively, stroll through the mountains, enjoying the views and the fresh air, or hire a bike and follow one of the many cycle paths in the area. In the evenings, enjoy a stroll along the promenade with a choice of restaurants and cafes, some with live music and all with those breathtaking lake views.

I couldn’t possibly choose which season I prefer, I’ve skied since I was 5 years old and I can never get enough but there’s also something really magical about the spending the summer on Lake Garda.
